Design Reviews at Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Tender, and Construction stages
PAA design reviews provide a comprehensive evaluation of architectural drawings, specifications and schedules to verify that the proposed design aligns with the required building codes, Australian Standards and accessibility legislation. Our focus is not only on minimum compliance, but on identifying practical opportunities to enhance usability, safety and inclusivity for all building users.
Following our review, we prepare a detailed written report that clearly outlines which elements meet the mandatory criteria, where adjustments are required to achieve compliance, and where well-considered improvements could elevate the design beyond the baseline requirements. These improvements are presented as best-practice recommendations, drawn from our extensive industry experience.
To support the written report, we also provide marked-up drawing sheets that visually communicate the proposed changes and key considerations. These annotations serve as a quick-reference tool during design development, coordination with consultants, and communication with contractors, helping the project team to implement the necessary adjustments efficiently and accurately.
The outcome is a practical, actionable roadmap to achieve compliant, inclusive, and user-centred design outcomes from the earliest project stages — reducing risk, avoiding rework, and strengthening design quality.
